Hadith 6700

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I have some relatives; I maintain ties with them, but they sever relations with me. I forgive them, but they wrong me. I treat them well, but they treat me badly. Can I also repay them in kind?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No, otherwise you will all be left alone. You should choose the virtuous side and maintain ties of kinship with them, and as long as you continue to do so, a constant helper from Allah will remain with you."
