It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Sayyiduna Hamza (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Appoint me to some work so that I may earn my livelihood through it." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Hamza! Is it more beloved to you to keep the soul alive or to kill it?" He replied, "To keep it alive." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then make your soul incumbent upon yourself."
