Hadith 663

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى أَنْ يَرْفَعَ الرَّجُلُ صَوْتَهُ بِالْقِرَاءَةِ قَبْلَ الْعِشَاءِ وَبَعْدَهَا ، يُغَلِّطُ أَصْحَابَهُ وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade anyone from raising his voice while reciting (the Qur'an) before or after the 'Isha prayer, because in this way, his other companions who are praying may become confused.
