It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) was sitting in a gathering and said: "Is it not possible for any of you to recite one third of the Qur'an every night?" The people said, "How is that possible?" He said: "Surah Ikhlas is one third of the Qur'an." Meanwhile, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived. He had heard the words of Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him), so he said: "Abu Ayyub has spoken the truth."
