Hadith 661

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَيْسٌ ، عَنِ الْأَشْعَثِ بْنِ سَوَّارٍ ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي ظَبْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَا عَلِيُّ ، إِنْ أَنْتَ وُلِّيتَ الْأَمْرَ بَعْدِي ، فَأَخْرِجْ أَهْلَ نَجْرَانَ مِنْ جَزِيرَةِ الْعَرَبِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Ali! If at any time after me the reins of government come into your hands, then expel the people of Najran from the Arabian Peninsula."
