(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُمْ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " ضَافَ ضَيْفٌ رَجُلًا مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ، وَفِي دَارِهِ كَلْبَةٌ مُجِحٌّ ، فَقَالَتْ الْكَلْبَةُ : وَاللَّهِ لَا أَنْبَحُ ضَيْفَ أَهْلِي ، قَالَ : فَعَوَى جِرَاؤُهَا فِي بَطْنِهَا ، قَالَ : قِيلَ : مَا هَذَا ؟ قَالَ : فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْهُمْ هَذَا مَثَلُ أُمَّةٍ تَكُونُ مِنْ بَعْدِكُمْ ، يَقْهَرُ سُفَهَاؤُهَا أَحْلماءَهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A guest came to a man from the Children of Israel. The host had a dog at his house that barked a lot. The dog said, 'I will not bark in front of my master's guest.' Meanwhile, the puppy in her belly started barking. Someone asked, 'What is this?' Allah revealed to the prophet of that time that this is an example of the nation that will come after you, in which the foolish will dominate the wise."
