Hadith 6553

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ . وَعَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الْخَمْرُ إِذَا شَرِبُوهَا فَاجْلِدُوهُمْ ، ثُمَّ إِذَا شَرِبُوهَا ، فَاجْلِدُوهُمْ ، ثُمَّ إِذَا شَرِبُوهَا ، فَاجْلِدُوهُمْ ، ثُمَّ إِذَا شَرِبُوهَا ، فَاقْتُلُوهُمْ ، عِنْدَ الرَّابِعَةِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever drinks alcohol, flog him. If he drinks again, then flog him again. If he drinks a third time, then flog him again. And on the fourth occasion, he said: 'Kill him.'"
