Hadith 6551

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، وَعَفَّانُ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ عَفَّانُ : قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ صُهَيْبٍ الْحَذَّاءِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْن عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ قَتَلَ عُصْفُورًا سَأَلَهُ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " ، قِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَمَا حَقُّهُ ؟ قَالَ : " يَذْبَحُهُ ذَبْحًا ، وَلَا يَأْخُذُ بِعُنُقِهِ فَيَقْطَعُهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever kills even a sparrow unjustly, Allah Almighty will question him about it on the Day of Resurrection." Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What is its right?" He said: "He should slaughter it, not seize it by the neck so as to break it."
