Hadith 6541

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَرِيزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حِبَّانُ الشَّرْعَبِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ : " ارْحَمُوا تُرْحَمُوا ، وَاغْفِرُوا يَغْفِرْ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ ، وَيْلٌ لِأَقْمَاعِ الْقَوْلِ ، وَيْلٌ لِلْمُصِرِّينَ الَّذِينَ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى مَا فَعَلُوا وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that once the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said while on the pulpit: "Show mercy, you will be shown mercy; forgive, you will be forgiven. Destruction is for those who only possess the weapon of words. Destruction is for those who knowingly persist and remain steadfast in their sins."
