Hadith 6524

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا فِطْرٌ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الرَّحِمَ مُعَلَّقَةٌ بِالْعَرْشِ ، وَلَيْسَ الْوَاصِلُ بِالْمُكَافِئِ ، وَلَكِنَّ الْوَاصِلَ الَّذِي إِذَا انْقَطَعَتْ رَحِمُهُ وَصَلَهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The womb (ties of kinship) is suspended with the Throne. The one who only reciprocates is not truly upholding the ties of kinship; the true upholder of kinship is the one who maintains relations even when others sever them."
