(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قَطَنٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي السَّفَرِ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، قَالَ : جَالَسْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ سَنَتَيْنِ ، مَا سَمِعْتُهُ رَوَى شَيْئًا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ حَدِيثَ " الضَّبِّ أَوْ الْأَضُبِّ " .
Imam Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I used to go to and come from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) for about two years, but during this period I did not hear any hadith from him except this one. Then he mentioned the hadith about the lizard.
