Hadith 6458

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْخَيَّاطُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي الْعُمَرِيَّ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ , أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَقْطَعَ الزُّبَيْرَ حُضْرَ فَرَسِهِ ، بِأَرْضٍ يُقَالُ لَهَا : ثُرَيْرٌ ، فَأَجْرَى الْفَرَسَ حَتَّى قَامَ ، ثُمَّ رَمَى بِسَوْطِهِ ، فَقَالَ : " أَعْطُوهُ حَيْثُ بَلَغَ السَّوْطُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted Sayyiduna Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) a piece of land called Sharir as a fief: "And the manner was that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mounted a swift horse and made it run, then stopped at a place, threw his whip, and said: 'Give Sayyiduna Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) the land up to where this whip has reached.'"
