Hadith 6452

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الْوَلَاءُ لِمَنْ أَعْتَقَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave this ruling: "The right of wala' belongs only to the one who frees the slave."
