Hadith 6443

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنِي حَنْظَلَةُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ سَالِمَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " مَنْ اقْتَنَى كَلْبًا إِلَّا ضَارِيًا أَوْ كَلْبَ مَاشِيَةٍ ، نَقَصَ مِنْ أَجْرِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطَانِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever keeps a dog that is neither for guarding livestock nor a hunting dog, then two qirats will be deducted from his reward every day."
