Hadith 6428

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : الْبَيْدَاءُ الَّتِي تَكْذِبُونَ فِيهَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ! مَا أَهَلَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا مِنْ عِنْدِ مَسْجِدِ ذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ .
Salim (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to say: "This is the place of Bayda regarding which you attribute something incorrectly to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). By Allah, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) assumed Ihram from the mosque itself (and not from the place of Bayda as you have made famous)."
