It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) bargained to buy Barirah (may Allah be pleased with her). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) returned after offering prayer, so Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said that the owner of Barirah (may Allah be pleased with her) refused to sell her and said that if the wala’ (right of inheritance) is given to us, then we will sell her. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The wala’ belongs to the one who sets the slave free."
