Hadith 6397

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ وَاسِعٍ , أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ عَنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ " ، كُلَّمَا وَضَعَ وَكُلَّمَا رَفَعَ ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ : " السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ " عَلَى يَمِينِهِ ، " السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ " ، عَلَى يَسَارِهِ .
Wasi' bin Hibban (may Allah have mercy on him) says that he asked Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) about how the prayer of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was. Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) mentioned saying the takbeer every time he bowed and raised his head, and mentioned saying "As-salamu alaikum wa rahmatullah" to the right side and "As-salamu alaikum wa rahmatullah" to the left side.
