Hadith 6388

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ , عَنِ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُخْرَجُ مَعَهُ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ بِعَنَزَةٍ ، فَيَرْكُزُهَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ، فَيُصَلِّي إِلَيْهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that on the day of Eid al-Fitr, the spear of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to be brought out, and the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) would plant the spear as a sutrah and perform the prayer.
