Hadith 6353

Abdur Rahman bin Umayyah asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that in the Noble Qur'an we find mention of the prayer of fear and the prayer in residence, but we do not find mention of the prayer during travel (even then, why is the prayer shortened during travel?) He replied: "When Allah Almighty sent the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), we knew nothing; we only do as we saw him doing."
