It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) would say the takbeer, he would raise his hands to the level of his shoulders or close to it. He would also raise his hands when going into ruku and after raising his head from ruku, but between the two prostrations, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) did not raise his hands.
