Hadith 6299

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) observed several fasts continuously in the month of Ramadan with only one pre-dawn meal (suhoor). The people also did the same. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade them from doing so. They said, "You are forbidding us from fasting continuously for several days, but you yourself are doing it?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I am not like you. I am given food and drink by Allah."
