(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ : " يُنَفِّلُ بَعْضَ مَنْ يَبْعَثُ مِنَ السَّرَايَا لِأَنْفُسِهِمْ خَاصَّةً ، سِوَى قَسْمِ عَامَّةِ الْجَيْشِ ، وَالْخُمُسُ فِي ذَلِكَ وَاجِبٌ لِلَّهِ تَعَالَى " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would send detachments separated from the main army, he would especially grant them rewards that were not given to the rest of the army. However, from this, one-fifth of the spoils of war would be set aside for Allah.
