Hadith 6197

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ التَّيْمِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ أَبِي الْخَطَّابِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " مَنْ شَرِبَ الْخَمْرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ، فَإِنْ شَرِبَهَا فَاجْلِدُوهُ ، فَإِنْ شَرِبَهَا فَاجْلِدُوهُ " ، فَقَالَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ أَوْ الْخَامِسَةِ : فَاقْتُلُوهُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever drinks alcohol, flog him. If he drinks again, then flog him again. If he drinks a third time, then flog him again. And on the fourth or fifth occasion, he said: Then kill him.
