Hadith 6156

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدَةُ بْنُ أَبِي لُبَابَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِبَعْضِ جَسَدِي ، فَقَالَ : " اعْبُدْ اللَّهَ كَأَنَّكَ تَرَاهُ ، وَكُنْ فِي الدُّنْيَا كَأَنَّكَ غَرِيبٌ أَوْ عَابِرُ سَبِيلٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, once held a part of my body and said: Worship Allah as if you see Him, and live in this world as if you are a traveler or one passing by.
