Hadith 6135

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، وَسَعْدٌ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : وَحَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نَهَى أَنْ يَخْطُبَ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى خِطْبَةِ أَخِيهِ ، أَوْ يَبِيعَ عَلَى بَيْعِهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade that a person should sell over his brother's sale, or send his marriage proposal over his brother's marriage proposal.
