Hadith 6124

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ أَبِي قُرَّةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ بِلَالٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنْ يُسَافَرَ بِالْقُرْآنِ إِلَى أَرْضِ الْعَدُوِّ ، مَخَافَةَ أَنْ يَنَالَهُ الْعَدُوُّ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade taking the Noble Qur'an with oneself while traveling to the enemy's territory, because there is a fear that it may fall into the hands of the enemy.
