(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عُتَيْبَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، قَالَ : جَاءَ أَبُو مُوسَى إِلَى الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ يَعُودُهُ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : أَعَائِدًا جِئْتَ أَمْ شَامِتًا ؟ قَالَ : لَا ، بَلْ عَائِدًا ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ لَهُ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : إِنْ كُنْتَ جِئْتَ عَائِدًا ، فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِذَا عَادَ الرَّجُلُ أَخَاهُ الْمُسْلِمَ ، مَشَى فِي خِرَافَةِ الْجَنَّةِ حَتَّى يَجْلِسَ ، فَإِذَا جَلَسَ ، غَمَرَتْهُ الرَّحْمَةُ ، فَإِن كَانَ غُدْوَةً ، صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ سَبْعُونَ أَلْفَ مَلَكٍ حَتَّى يُمْسِيَ ، وَإِنْ كَانَ مَسَاءً ، صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ سَبْعُونَ أَلْفَ مَلَكٍ حَتَّى يُصْبِحَ " .
Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila says that once Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) came to visit Sayyiduna Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) for his illness. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: Have you come with the intention of visiting the sick or to express happiness over his illness? He replied: I have come with the intention of visiting the sick. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: If you have truly come with the intention of visiting the sick, then I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: When a person visits his Muslim brother who is ill, he walks in the gardens of Paradise until he sits down. When he sits, Allah’s mercy covers him. Then, if he goes in the morning, seventy thousand angels pray for his forgiveness until the evening, and if he goes in the evening, they pray for him until the morning.
