Hadith 6107

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had a ring made of gold. He would turn its stone towards the palm of his hand. People also had rings made, upon which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) threw it away. The people also took off and threw away their rings. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had a ring made of silver. With it, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would seal (letters), but he would not wear it.
