Zaid bin Aslam (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to dye his clothes and apply saffron oil. Someone asked him, "Why do you dye your clothes with saffron?" He replied: "I have seen that saffron oil was the most beloved of all things to be dyed for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He used to apply its oil and dye his clothes with it."
