Hadith 6039

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْعَاصِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " الْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى " ، قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ : فَلَمْ أَسْأَلْ عُمَرَ فَمَنْ سِوَاهُ مِنَ النَّاسِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The upper hand is better than the lower hand." Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that because of this, I do not ask Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) or any other person for anything.
