Hadith 6025

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ , أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، فَذَكَرَ حَدِيثًا ، وَقَالَ سَالِمٌ : قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَائِمًا عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَقُولُ : " اقْتُلُوا الْحَيَّاتِ ، وَاقْتُلُوا ذَا الطُّفْيَتَيْنِ وَالْأَبْتَرَ ، فَإِنَّهُمَا يَلْتَمِسَانِ الْبَصَرَ ، وَيُسْقِطَانِ الْحَبَلَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying from the pulpit: Kill snakes, especially those with two stripes and those with short tails, for they cause blindness and miscarriage.
