Hadith 602

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ يُونُسَ يَعْنِي الْيَمَامِيَّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ الْيَمَامِيِّ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ حَسَنٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَقْبَلَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، فَقَالَ : " يَا عَلِيُّ ، هَذَانِ سَيِّدَا كُهُولِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ وَشَبَابِهَا بَعْدَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَالْمُرْسَلِينَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that I was present in the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when the two Shaykhs (may Allah be pleased with them both) were seen coming from the front. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Ali! These two are the leaders of all the elders and youths of Paradise, except for the Prophets and Messengers."
