Hadith 6002

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ يَعْنِي الْمُعَلِّمَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي يَحْيَى , حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو قِلَابَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " سَتَخْرُجُ نَارٌ قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ بَحْرِ حَضْرَمَوْتَ ، تَحْشُرُ النَّاسَ " ، قَالُوا : فَمَا تَأْمُرُنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " عَلَيْكُمْ بِالشَّامِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to us: Near the Day of Judgment, a fire will emerge from the sea of Hadramaut, "which is a region of Syria," and it will drive the people forward. We asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What do you command us to do at that time?" He said: Make the land of Syria obligatory upon yourselves (go there).
