(حديث موقوف) حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْنَا عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : هَلْ عِنْدَكُمْ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْءٌ بَعْدَ الْقُرْآنِ ؟ قَالَ : لَا وَالَّذِي فَلَقَ الْحَبَّةَ ، وَبَرَأَ النَّسَمَةَ ، إِلَّا فَهْمٌ يُؤْتِيهِ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ رَجُلًا فِي الْقُرْآنِ ، أَوْ مَا فِي الصَّحِيفَةِ ، قُلْتُ : وَمَا فِي الصَّحِيفَةِ ؟ قَالَ : " الْعَقْلُ ، وَفِكَاكُ الْأَسِيرِ ، وَلَا يُقْتَلُ مُسْلِمٌ بِكَافِرٍ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Juhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that once we asked Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), "Did you receive anything from the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) besides the Qur'an?" He replied, "No, by the One Who split the grain and created living beings, except for the understanding, insight, and wisdom that Allah grants to a person regarding the understanding of the Qur'an, or that which is in this scroll, and nothing else." I asked, "What is in this scroll?" He replied, "The rulings of blood money, the issues of releasing captives, and that no Muslim should be killed in retaliation for a disbeliever."
