It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) conveyed this statement from the Lord of the worlds: "Whoever of My servants goes out in My path for Jihad solely to seek My pleasure, I guarantee him that either I will return him with reward and spoils of war, or I will seize his soul, forgive him, have mercy on him, and admit him into Paradise."
