Hadith 5880

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ وِتْرٌ يُحِبُّ الْوِتْرَ " ، قَالَ نَافِعٌ : وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ لَا يَصْنَعُ شَيْئًا إِلَّا وِتْرًا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah is Odd, and He loves odd numbers." Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) says that for this reason, Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to pay attention to odd numbers.
