Hadith 5871

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُصَيْنٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ نُمَيْرٍ أَبُو مِحْصَنٍ ، عَنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي سَالِمٌ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ , أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " خَرَجَ يَوْمَ عِيدٍ فَبَدَأَ فَصَلَّى بِلَا أَذَانٍ وَلَا إِقَامَةٍ ، ثُمَّ خَطَبَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that on the day of Eid, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went out, led the prayer before delivering the sermon, and did so without any call to prayer (adhan) or iqamah.
