(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ ، أُتِيتُ بِقَدَحِ لَبَنٍ ، فَشَرِبْتُ مِنْهُ ، ثُمَّ أَعْطَيْتُ فَضْلِي عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ " ، قَالُوا : فَمَا أَوَّلْتَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " الْعِلْمُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Once, in a dream, a bowl of milk was brought to me. I drank from it, then I gave the remainder to Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). Someone asked: O Messenger of Allah! What interpretation did you give to this? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Knowledge."
