(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : اتَّخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ ، فَاتَّخَذَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِمَهُمْ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ ، فَقَامَ يَوْمًا ، فَقَالَ : " إِنِّي كُنْتُ أَلْبَسُ هَذَا الْخَاتَمَ " ، ثُمَّ نَبَذَهُ ، فَنَبَذَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَهُمْ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, had a ring made of gold. People also had rings made of gold. One day the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, stood up and said: "I used to wear this ring," then the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, threw it away, and the people also threw away their rings.
