Hadith 5846

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ ابْنَةِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ ، قَالَتْ : رَأَى ابْنُ عُمَرَ صَبِيًّا فِي رَأْسِهِ قَنَازِعُ ، فَقَالَ : أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نَهَى أَنْ تَحْلِقَ الصِّبْيَانُ الْقَزَعَ " .
Safiyyah bint Abi Ubaid says that once Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) saw a child whose head had some hair cut and some left as it was. He said: Do you not know that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade cutting children's hair in this manner?
