Hadith 5812

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ الْغَلَابِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَانَ يَدْعُو عَلَى أَرْبَعَةٍ ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى لَيْسَ لَكَ مِنَ الأَمْرِ شَيْءٌ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَوْ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ ظَالِمُونَ سورة آل عمران آية 128 ، قَالَ : وَهَدَاهُمْ اللَّهُ إِلَى الْإِسْلَامِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate against four men. Then this verse was revealed: "You have no authority in this matter, whether Allah turns to them or punishes them, for they are wrongdoers." So Allah guided all of them to Islam.
