Hadith 5714

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُهَنَّى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ أَبُو شِبْلٍ , عَنْ حَمَّادٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ , أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَسَاهُ حُلَّةً فَأَسْبَلَهَا ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيهِ قَوْلًا شَدِيدًا ، وَذَكَرَ النَّارَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave him a silk garment, and it began to hang below his ankles, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke harshly about it and mentioned Hell.
