Hadith 5698

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَطَرٌ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : سَافَرْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعَ عُمَرَ ، فَكَانَا " لَا يَزِيدَانِ عَلَى رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، وَكُنَّا ضُلَّالًا فَهَدَانَا اللَّهُ بِهِ ، فَبِهِ نَقْتَدِي " .
Narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: I have traveled with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and with Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), and both of them did not pray more than two rak'ahs during travel. We were previously misguided, then Allah granted us guidance through the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so now we will follow him.
