(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، أَنْهُ سَمِعَ أَبَاهُ مُحَمَّدًا يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَا زَالَ جِبْرِيلُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُوصِينِي بِالْجَارِ ، حَتَّى ظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ سَيُوَرِّثُهُ " ، أَوْ قَالَ : " خَشِيتُ أَنْ يُوَرِّثَهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Jibreel kept advising me regarding the neighbor so continuously that I began to think he would make him an heir."
