Hadith 5574

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : كَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ يَكَادُ أن يَلْعَنُ الْبَيْدَاءَ ، وَيَقُولُ : " أَحْرَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ " .
Salim (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to speak about the place of Bida’ and would say that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) assumed Ihram from the mosque itself (and not from the place of Bida’ as you have made famous).
