Hadith 5566

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، سَمِعْتُ حَكِيمًا الْحَذَّاءَ ، سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ " سُئِلَ عَنْ الصَّلَاةِ فِي السَّفَرِ ، فَقَالَ : رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، سُنَّةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
Hakeem Haza says that a person asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) about the prayer during travel. He replied that during travel, the prayer is two rak'ahs; this is the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
