(حديث مرفوع) (حديث موقوف) وَلَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لَئِنْ أَنْتُمْ اتَّبَعْتُمْ أَذْنَابَ الْبَقَرِ ، وَتَبَايَعْتُمْ بِالْعِينَةِ ، وَتَرَكْتُمْ الْجِهَادَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، لَيُلْزِمَنَّكُمْ اللَّهُ مَذَلَّةً فِي أَعْنَاقِكُمْ ، ثُمَّ لَا تُنْزَعُ مِنْكُمْ حَتَّى تَرْجِعُونَ إِلَى مَا كُنْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ ، وَتَتُوبُونَ إِلَى اللَّهِ " .
And I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: If you abandon jihad, become occupied with holding the tails of cows, and start buying fine and luxurious things, then Allah will send calamities upon you, and He will not remove them until you repent and return to the religion.
