(حديث موقوف) حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو جَنَابٍ يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي حَيَّةَ ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ ، سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ : يَقُولُ : " لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنَا وَمَا صَاحِبُ الدِّينَارِ وَالدِّرْهَمِ بِأَحَقَّ مِنْ أَخِيهِ الْمُسْلِمِ ، ثُمَّ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنَا بِأَخَرَةٍ الْآنَ وَلَلدِّينَارُ وَالدِّرْهَمُ أَحَبُّ إِلَى أَحَدِنَا مِنْ أَخِيهِ الْمُسْلِمِ " .
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to say: We have seen a time when, in our eyes, the one possessing dirhams and dinars was not more entitled than his poor Muslim brother, and now we are seeing a time in which dinars and dirhams are dearer than a Muslim brother.
