Hadith 5556

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي مِجْلَزٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " سَجَدَ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى مِنْ صَلَاةِ الظُّهْرِ ، فَرَأَى أَصْحَابُهُ أَنَّهُ قَرَأَ تَنْزِيلُ السَّجْدَةِ " ، قَالَ : وَلَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ مِنْ أَبِي مِجْلَزٍ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while leading the Zuhr prayer performed a prostration of recitation in the first rak'ah. The noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) thought that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had recited Surah As-Sajdah.
