Hadith 5530

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، يَقُولُ : إِنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا نَادَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَا تَرَى فِي هَذَا الضَّبِّ ؟ فَقَالَ : " لَا آكُلُهُ وَلَا أُحَرِّمُهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a Bedouin man called out and asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the lizard: "What is your opinion regarding it?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "I neither eat it nor do I declare it unlawful."
